The first clip shows the standard beta, which includes a long lock off from a good crimp. The second clip shows beta that avoids the long lock off. A small undercling with the left hand and an infrequently used pinch allow you to put your feet higher and avoid the lock off. (To me, the second beta feels slightly harder, but less reachy).
